  • Parentheses can be used to group portions of Boolean queries together . For example, to find documents that contain the word "whale" and either the word "endangered" or the word "extinct," enter: whale AND (endangered OR extinct)
  • Use quotation marks around phrases
  • You may use plus (+) and minus (-) signs in place of AND or NOT.
